OUR STORY

It started with a dream about the words we use.

Kind Lips began with an idea for a lip balm company. Then one conversation with my mom gave it a purpose I never expected.

THE IDEA THAT STILL GUIDES US Words have power.

HOW IT STARTED

My Mom's Dream

The name Kind Lips wasn't created in a branding meeting. It came from a moment that gave me direction and purpose.

One evening, I told my mom I had a crazy idea: I wanted to start a lip balm company.

She wasn't nearly as excited as I was.

The next morning, she called and told me about a vivid dream. In it, I had spoken unkindly to my sister. My mom made me write the words:

“The law of kindness is on my lips.”

As I wrote them down, two words seemed to jump off the page.

Kind. Lips.

Suddenly, the lip balm had a purpose.

A product you use on your lips could become a reminder to think about the words that come from them.

THE PRODUCT BECAME THE REMINDER Every time you apply, remember to speak kind words.

WHY LIP BALM?

Turn an everyday habit into a reminder.

Lip balm is something people reach for without thinking. Kind Lips gives that familiar habit a little more meaning.

Every time you apply, it's a cue to remember: your words have power. Use them to build yourself and others up.

1

Use it.

Reach for your Kind Lips like you normally would.

2

Remember.

Let the habit become a cue that your words have power.

3

Speak kind words.

Choose words that build yourself and the people around you up.

THE MISSION GREW

The reminder now reaches classrooms too.

What began as a message on a lip balm eventually became something we wanted students to experience too.

Kind Lips helps support Kind Lips in the Classroom, a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit built around the same simple idea: students matter, and their words have power.

FROM THE FOUNDER

I still believe small reminders matter.

“I love that something as ordinary as lip balm can become a small reminder in someone's day to think about the words they use. That simple idea is still what drives everything we do.”
